Medtem, ko so se druge družine odpravljale k počitku, sta se Jožef in Marija v velikih skrbeh podala nazaj proti Jeruzalemu. 7 Vso dolgo noč sta hodila in naslednje jutro, utrujena in neprespana, iskala Jezusa po mestu. Končno sta ga našla v templju in njegova mama mu je rekla: »OTROK, ZAKAJ SI NAMA TO STORIL? V VELIKIH SKRBEH SVA TE ISKALA?« 8 »KAKO DA STA ME ISKALA?
